This waiata honours the geothermal lands of Ōrākei Kōrako and the ancestral figures who connect Ngāti Tahu-Ngāti Whaoa to their ūkaipō (ancestral homeland). It is a call to hold fast to the whenua and to use it wisely for the wellbeing of generations to come.
